Checking Out The Culvert

Culverts are the pipes or concrete drains that allow streams and creeks to flow under roads.  They’re commonplace, and we tend to ignore them — or, at least, I do.  I’ve walked past this culvert hundreds of times, but this morning I decided to take a closer look.  It’s a pretty basic culvert, but I liked the sound of the rushing water . . . and I realized I’ve never been on the other side.
